1. Go Sightseeing
Athens is most known for its rich history and culture, so you can’t leave the city without spending some time sightseeing. While wandering around some of the top museums, churches and historical areas of Athens, simply lift your head high and marvel the Acropolis, pay a visit to the Acropolis Museum and observe the findings from excavations on the Acropolis Hill, considered to be the most famous monument of classical antiquity. Walking is the best way to discover the historic center of Athens. Start your round tour from Syntagma Square, take a look at the National Garden with its 15000 ornamental plants, stroll through the picturesque Anafiotika in Plaka, cross Thission and walk till you reach the highest point, Mount Lycabettus, from where you can take in the breath taking vistas or visit the chapel of St. George. If you don’t feel like making the climb, you can take the Funicular Railway which leaves you at the top of Ploutarchou str. in Kolonaki.
